CRETTIE CAMBY COOPER, 89, of the Lauada Community, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday March 18, 2009 at her daughters residence in Sylva, NC. A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late William and Carrie McHan Camby, and the wife of the late Harvey P. Cooper. She was a member of Sawmill Hill Freewill Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her son, Doyle Cooper, 2 sisters and 5 brothers.
She is survived by
2 daughters- Shirley DeHart and her husband Doug of Maiden, NC
Sue Deitz and her husband Jack of Sylva
Daughter in law- Annie Mae Cooper of Bryson City
8 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren also survive
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 pm Saturday in the Chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. The Rev. Ralph Byrd will officiate, buriql will be in Sawmill Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday at the Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Jackson County Department of Aging, PO Box 596, Sylva, NC, 28779 or to West Care Hospice, 132 Sylva Plaza, Sylva, NC 28779.
