Edgar Lee Kirkland, 64, of the Laurel Branch community went home to be with the Lord Sunday, October 25, 2020. A native of Swain County, he was the son of Annie Crowder Kirkland of Bryson City and the late Lee Kirkland.
He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He loved hunting, fishing and being outdoors as well as spending time with his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his mother, Edgar is survived by his wife of 43 years, Diana Williamson Kirkland; children, Brian Kirkland and wife Sandra, Bradley Kirkland and wife Carrie, Brady Kirkland; grandchildren, Colby, Hunter, Carter, Haley, Kaysen, Braylee; and his siblings, Earl Kirkland, Nancy Johnson, Richard Kirkland and Dora Crisp.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday at Laurel Branch Cemetery with the Revs. Evan Brown and Tony Cochran officiating.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm Wednesday at Crisp Funeral Home.
