Obituary of Mildred Fox Burns

Mildred “Mamaw” Burns, 86, went to be with the Lord on September 15, 2020. Mildred was born in Swain County on June 6, 1934 to the late Carl and Maude Fox. She was known to many as the face of Papa’s Pizza To Go where she was the manager for many years. She was a loving mother, mamaw, and friend to so many. She will be missed by all that knew her.
She is survived by one son, Troy (Tammy) Burns; two grandchildren, Chris (Carrie) Burns and Trey (Lorin) Burns; three great grandchildren, Drew Burns, Shannon Burns, Knox Burns and a special caretaker, Mary Terry. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son C.D. Burns. A graveside celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 11:00am at Swain Memorial Park. Reverend Eddie Deitz will be officiating. Crisp Funeral Home is assisting the Burns family with arrangements.
