Jonas (Goose) Lossiah, 68, of the Yellowhill Community, passed away unexpectedly Monday, August 1, 2011 at his residence. A native of Cherokee, he was the son of the late Jesse James Lossiah Sr. and Lillian Shell Lossiah. He was a member of Qualla Arts and Crafts. He was preceded in death by his infant sister, Amanda Lossiah; brothers, Charles, John Henry, and Jesse James Jr Lossiah; and one sister, Ann Lossiah Cooper. He is survived by his special companion, Mary Jane Taylor; three daughters, Heather Lee Taylor, Brittany Jane Washington, and Cassandra Washington; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; one brother, Ernie Lossiah; one special niece Ernestine Lossiah; and several nieces and nephews; and one special brother Randy Lossiah all of Cherokee. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at Piney Grove Baptist Church. Rev. J. T. Lambert will officiate with burial in the Lossiah Cemetery #2. The body will be taken to Piney Grove Baptist Church at 4:00 PM Wednesday by Crisp Funeral Home to await the hour of service. An online register is available at www.crispfuneralhome.org
