William Jeffery Simonds, 64, passed away on March 23, 2020. He was born on February 6, 1956 in Swain County, North Carolina to the late Alfred and Annie Simonds. William worked as a carpenter and logger. He enjoyed spending time with his large family. In addition, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Franks; one daughter, Elizabeth Simonds; one step-daughter, Sandra Franks; three step grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; five sisters, Shirley Galloway, Betty Buchanan, Marlyn Queen, Eva Nell Howard, and Laura Baines; two brothers, Dillard Simonds and Arvil Simonds; one step son Clinton Franks; twenty nieces and nephews, and twenty great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin Simmonds and Virgil Simonds, as well as one step son, Robert Franks.
A funeral service will be held on March 25, 2020 with the Reverend Dwayne Kirkland officiating. Bobby Simonds, Nathaniel Simonds, Randy Simonds, and Devin Chastain will serve as pallbearers.
