Robert Eugene Evans, 84, of Bryson City, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, February 8, 2020. Robert was born on May 24 1935 in Ashland, KY. He was a longtime resident of Columbus, OH, West Palm Beach, FL, and moved to Bryson City, NC in the year 2000 where he lived for the rest of his life.
He was preceded in death by parents James T. Evans and Mary Karst; brothers, Melvin Evans, and Curtis Evans; sister, Elizabeth Dominey.
He is survived by his five children, Rickey Evans (Nellie) of Lake Worth Beach, FL, Tamera Iadonisi (Danny) of Bryson City, NC, Wendie Binford (John) of Shady Cove, OR, Rockal Evans (Renee) of Bryson City, NC, and Carla Evans of Bryson City, NC; grandchildren, Michael Nugent, Steven Cook, Craig Evans, Amanda Carson, Justin Evans, Lindsay White, Jacqueline Evans, Courtney Evans, Kaelani Binford, Christopher White, Lauren Hyde, Kristen Liptak, and Johnathan Binford, and 11 great grandchildren.
Robert was a retired Union Operating Engineer for Local 18 in Ohio and Local 675 in Ft. Lauderdale. He was also a Mason with Capital City Lodge 656 in Columbus Ohio.
A celebration of Robert’s Life was held at his home.
A Memorial Tree was planted for Robert
