Shirley McMahan, 76, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord Sunday, January 12, 2020. A native of Swain County she was the daughter of the late Thad and Jessica Phillips Herron. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her brother Donald Herron and his wife Betty.
She is survived by four children, Rebecca Brendle and husband Kenny, Patricia Greene and husband Jim, Teddy McMahan and wife Sonya all of Bryson City, and Rachel McMahan of Sylva, NC; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; one sister, Mary Herron of Leicester, NC, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Friday at Crisp Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Max Cochran will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Friday at the Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Alzheimer's Foundation at 322 8th Ave. Ste. 700, New York, NY 10001.
