Cherokee Dateline: Marilyn G. Lambert, 81, of the Birdtown Community went home to be with the Lord Sunday, August 19th, 2012 in Cherokee Indian Hospital. A native of Cherokee, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Lena Murphy Goforth. She was an avid Bead Worker and loved to Crochet. She was a member of the Qualla Arts and crafts and a member of Echota Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Rev. Thomas Lambert; son Mark T. Lambert; three grandchildren; three sisters, and one brother. She is survived by five children Florence Bradley, James (Jim) Lambert and wife Julie, John Carson Lambert and friend Deb Smith, Tommy Lambert and wife Dana, and Mia Faye Lambert all of Cherokee; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; two sisters, Hazel Bradley of Rainelle, W.V., and Faye Davis of Enka and one brother Sonny Goforth of Enka. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at Bethabara Baptist Church. Revs. Floyd Panther and James (Bo) Parris will officiate with burial in the Birdtown Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-9:00 PM Wednesday at the Church. Pallbearers will be members of the Cherokee Fire Department. Crisp Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
