Ronald “Captain Ron” Gilbert Howard, 72, passed away of December 29, 2019 in Berkley County, South Carolina. He was born in Swain County, NC on September 2, 1947 to the late Will R. Howard and Edna Wiggins Howard. Mr. Howard served his country in the United States Army. Ronald owned his own company that installed acoustical ceilings. Upon retirement he moved to South Carolina and became a fishing guide. He loved to fish and also enjoyed watching the New York Yankees. He is survived by three daughters, Lisa Ann, Rhonda Ann, and Tonya Ann; five grandchildren, Tara, Kendra, Noah, Zoe, and Phoebe; three great-grandchildren, Haiden, Makhiya, and Gabriel; three sisters, Linda Ballard, Barbara Stamper, and Betty Bow; four brothers, Will R. Howard Jr., Jack Howard, Clyde Wiggins, and Frank Howard. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Michelle T. Howard; a sister Louise Howard, and two brothers, Houston and Hubert Howard. A Funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2019 at 1:00pm in the Chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Mr. Floyd Ballard will officiate. Burial will follow at Round Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until 1:00pm prior to the service.
