Obituary of Perry Lee Thomas

Perry Lee Thomas, 76, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2019.  Mr. Thomas was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina on January 1, 1943 to the late Hoy and Mildred Thomas.  Perry worked with the Town of Bryson City as a Superintendent in maintenance.  He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church.  He was an avid fly fisherman.   He liked to hunt as well and enjoyed woodcarving also. He was a retired member of the Bryson City Fire Department.

Perry is survived by his loving wife of 53 years and 7 months.  They were happily wed on February, 28 1966.  In addition, he is survived by his daughter Lisa Thomas Starnes (David) of Fletcher, NC; two grandchildren, Justin and Anna Starnes; a sister, Carolyn Teague (Don) and several nieces and nephews. 

A memorial service will be held Sunday, September 29, 2019 at Harmony Baptist Church at 3:30 pm with the Reverend Tony Cochran officiating.  The family will receive friends from 2:30pm-3:30pm prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Swain Cancer Support at PO Box 812 Bryson City, NC 28713.

Crisp Funeral home is assisting the Thomas family with arrangements.
