Obituary of Claudell C Wike
Claudell C. Wike, 81, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 23, 2019. She was born on February 13, 1938 to the late Claude and Lessie Cunningham in Swain County. She loved working in her flowers and her garden. One of her favorite ways to spend her time was with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a homemaker and loved cooking for her family and friends and everyone that met her loved her. Everyone that knew her called her Granny Wike. She was of the Baptist Faith.
She was preceded in death by one son Richard Daniel Wike, and a sister, Bernice Ritchie.
She is survived by her husband, Daniel Wike of 63 years. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter Donna Wike Walker; two sons, Michael E. Wike (Teresa), and Scott D. Wike; six grandchildren, Jeremiah Wike (Miranda), Chasity Wike, Christopher Wike (Kala), Latisha M. Parker (Andy), Richard Moses, and Tyler Wike; nine great-grandchildren, Shawn Roper, Kaley Wike, Evan Wike, Trenton Jones, Aiden Johnson, Kaseton Wike, Cameron Johnson, Benjamin Wike, and Madilyn Parker; two sisters Mary Cunningham and Faye Hyatt; several nieces and nephews; a special friend Diane Baily; three close friends, Nate Johnson, Anna Conner and Karson Conner and her special companion, her dog Tiny.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2019, at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. The Reverend Jeremiah Wike and Reverend Eddie Stillwell will officiate. Burial will follow at Swain Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Christopher Wike, Tyler Wike, Evan Wike, Trenton Jones, James Cabe, Terry Baily, Andy Parker, and Richard Moses. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm to 2:00pm prior to the service.
She will truly be missed by everyone that was a part of her life.
