Obituary of JOSHUA WEST WILLIAMSON

Joshua West Williamson, 97, of the Conleys Creek Community went home to be with the Lord Thursday, October 8, 2009 at his residence. A native of Newport, TN, he had lived in Swain County for most of his life. He retired with 20 years of service with Hennessee Lumber Co. He also drove a taxi, and was an avid farmer and Bee Man. He was the son of the late Laws and Bertha Ramsey Williamson and husband to the late Hazel Rogers Williamson. He also was preceded in death by two sons, Carroll and Harold Williamson; and one daughter, Claudia Bohanan; one grandson, Scott Williamson. He is survived by one daughter, Frankie Ledford of Mebane, NC; two sons, Billy West Williamson and wife Carol of Greensboro, NC, Ray Edgar Williamson and wife Teresa of Whittier; 14 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and 10 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Revs. Steve Phillipi, and Jeff Ramsland will officiate with burial in the Sherrill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
