Obituary of OLIVE LEDFORD ALLEN

Olive Ledford Allen, 97, of the Maple Springs Community went home to be with her Lord and Savior, May 29, 2009 at Mission St. Joseph Hospital in Asheville.
She was born February 19, 1912 in Swain County to the late Henry and Mary Jane Lance Ledford and lived here until her passing. Olive was a devout Christian, devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She was a member of the Maple Springs Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, Guy T. Allen, a daughter Elizabeth Allen, a son Gwin B. Allen, six brothers, Harley, Wiley, Hobert, Curtis, William and Willard, three sisters, Clora, Etta and Dess.
Olive is survived by two sons Edwin D. Allen and wife Dorothy, Kermit D. Allen and wife Pearlene, daughter-in-law Martha Allen, two Grandsons, five Granddaughters, thirteen great Grandchildren and several Nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Monday at Maple Springs Baptist Church. Revs. Roy Lindsay and Charles Ray Ball will officiate with burial in the Maple Springs Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 until 3:00 PM Monday at the Church.
Crisp Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be , Ronald Allen, Berlin Allen, R.L. Taylor, Trent Taylor, Clayton McHan, Jr. and Dustin Cabe.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Ben Allen, and Dawson Allen.
