Glenda Mae Jones Maney gained her heavenly wings on June 27, 2019 in a local health care facility surrounded by her son and daughter-in-law and her health care providers. Born on May 21, 1934 in the town of Judson, NC, her homesite now covered by the waters of Fontana Lake to parents, Samuel Nathan Crisp and wife Ethel DeHart Crisp. She was the oldest of five children.

 

She is survived by her sister, Marion Crisp Fortner (and her deceased husband Jack); son, Ron Jones and wife Joyce; grandson, Chris Jones (Dawn) granddaughter, Stephanie Jones Morgan (Tony) great granddaughter,  Samantha Garrett and great grandson, Logan Orr and great great grandsons, Casen and Colten Garrett; Susan Wiggins Cook, wife of Michael Jones; nephews, Chuck Crisp (wife Kim) of Virginia and Jackie Wayne Fortner (wife Susan) of Concord, NC; and very special friend, Elsie Cloer (Russell).

 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Clyde V. Jones and second husband, Charlie Maney of 13 years; son, Michael Jones and brother, John E. Crisp; sister, Nancy Crisp and a young brother who died at childbirth.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Rev. Kevin Seagle will officiate with burial in the DeHart Cemetery.

 

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 am Saturday at the funeral home.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Swain Cancer Support, PO Box 812, Bryson City, NC 28713 in memory of Glenda Maney.
