Obituary of Billy Cowan Aikens

Billy Cowan Aikens, 82, of the Barkers Creek Community went home to be with the Lord Thursday, April 4, 2019.

 

A native of Jackson County, he was the son of the late Ora and Beulah Frady Aikens.

He was a faithful member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Billy was a US Army Veteran, enjoyed gardening, playing the guitar, and he was a barber in Sylva.

 

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Forrest Lee, Enloe, and Jack Aikens and by his infant sister.

 

Billy is survived by his wife, Judy Mae Aikens, children, Randy Aikens, Kayla Wike, Kezia Waldroup, Missy Sparks; and by 10 grandchildren.

 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Revs. Tommy Ashe and David Birch will officiate with burial in the church cemetery.

 

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Saturday at the church.
