Obituary of Jerry "Ernest" Banks

Please share a memory of Jerry "Ernest" to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Jerry “Ernest” Banks, age 57, passed away peacefully February 23, 2019 at Harris Regional Hospital.

Jerry was a hard worker during his time here on earth. He was a friend to many and never met a stranger. He could make you laugh with his funny sayings and his funny cutting-up. He was serious, too, even to his final hours, telling us to quit boo-hooing and how much he loved his beautiful wife also how much he loved all of us.

He was the son of the late J.R. and Gladys Banks of Ellijay, GA. He is survived by his beautiful wife, Delena, his son, James, his daughter, Heather, special grandson Julian and several other grandchildren whom he loved dearly. His brothers, David and Chris of Ellijay, GA. Sisters-in-law, Hattie and Roberta, brothers-in-law, Albert, John Ross, Welch (Gator), Samson and Shorty.

Funeral services will be held at Little Snowbird Church. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 26, from 5 to 10 pm. Funeral service will be Wednesday, February 27 at 2:00 pm with Reverend Noah Crowe officiating.

Resting place will be Teesateskie Cemetery.
