Obituary of Phillip Monroe Watkins
Phillip Monroe Watkins, 63, of Reidsville, NC went home to be with the Lord Wednesday June 27, 2012 in a Hospice Center in Reidsville, NC. He was the son of the late James Monroe and Minnie Green Watkins. He had 21 years of service and retired with the U.S. Navy. He also worked in sales in the heating and air industry. He was a member of the First Assembly of God in Reidsville, NC.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Norma Jean Blankenship.
He is survived by his wife, Miyoko Watkins; two children, Noriyuki Kaneko and wife Melissa of Eden, NC, Sean Watkins and wife April of Eden, NC; two grandchildren, Bryan and Ethan; three sisters, Frances Mathews of Cherokee, Yvonne McHan of Reidsville, Hilda Lamanna of Greensboro; and one brother, Carl Watkins of Lilburn, GA.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Revs. Tim and Terry Hayes will officiate. Burial will be in the Roundhill Cemetery with military rites being conducted by the Bryson City VFW post 9281.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
