Obituary of Hellen Marie Mathews
Hellen Cook Mathews, 76, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 9, 2019. A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late Norman Tom and Julia Sutton Cook and wife of the late Charles William Mathews.
She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Annie Burns of Lexington, Sue Crisp of Rutherfordton, and Jerry Cook of Bryson City.
She is survived by her children, Rick Mathews, Ronnie Mathews both of Lexington and Dianna Mathews of Salisbury; six grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; sister, Merlin; and brothers, Gene, Giles, Ray Cook of Bryson City and W.C. "Doug" Cook of Lexington.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
