Dorothy Jean Chambers, 76, of Bryson City passed away Monday, November 19, 2018. A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late Lawson and Florence Duncan Stevenson; wife of the late John Ray Chambers; and sister of the late Ruby Buchanan, Tommy and Donald Stevenson, Deanie Cook, and Ralph Stevenson.
She was a member of Big Witch Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Hensley and husband Jim of Greeneville, TN; two sons, Malcolm Chambers and wife Heather of Bryson City and Jeff Chambers of Bryson City; grandchildren, Louie Calobrisi, David Calobrisi, Toni Mercadal, Ryan Chambers, Dawson Chambers, Kensley Chambers, Brittney Chambers; great grandchildren, Taylor Kingry, Sammy Mercadal, Revan Calobrisi, Ciana Calobrisi, Lincoln Chamgers, and Rylee Turpin; sisters, Helen O'dier, Hazel Cook, Mary Wike; and her very special friend, Lavada Taylor.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Revs. Jimbo Sneed and Eddie Stillwell will officiate with burial in the Holly Springs Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
