Obituary of William Kyle (Buddy) Pilkington

William Kyle (Buddy) Pilkington, 74, of the Towstring Community, went home to be with the Lord surrounded by family and friends, Friday July 6, 2018. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late William Roy and Bonnie Welch Pilkington. He was a longtime member of Towstring Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by two nephews, Gary White and Gregory A. Pilkington.
He was a friend to everyone who met him. He was involved in the Mountaineer Antique Auto Club.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Bertha Mathews Pilkington; siblings, Clarence Pilkington (Peggy), Louetta Pilkington White, Lewellyn Parker (Jerry), Barbara P. Fortner, and two nephews, Richard Fortner, and David Parker.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday in the Chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Revs. J.T. and Danny Lambert will officiate with burial in the Towstring Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Saturday at the Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be nephews and great nephews.
