Obituary of Michael Dean Payne

Michael Dean Payne, 62, passed away Sunday July 1st peacefully at Hospice House in Asheboro, NC. He was born January 11, 1956 in Bryson City, NC where he attended Swain County schools and graduated from Western Carolina University. He was the son of the late Roy and Gladys Payne. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Troy and Kip Payne.
He is survived by his wife Mary, sons David and Mitchell. Brothers Donald (Trudy) of Trinity, NC, Charles (Nita) of Bryson City, NC, Jerry (Shirley) of Gastonia, NC, Jeff (Beverly) of Bryson City, NC. Sisters Kay Winchester (Alan) of Bryson City, NC, Vickie Parton (Leonard) of Bryson City, NC, Patricia Price (Rocky) of Roswell, GA. Sister-in-law's Janet Payne (Troy) of Concord, NC and Ann Payne (Kip) of Bryson City, NC. A very Special Nephew along with many other nieces and nephews and his Aunt Delia of Bryson City, NC.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 July 4th at Crisp Funeral Home in Bryson City, NC officiated by his nephew Neal Payne. Interment will follow at Laurel Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 till 2:00 prior to the service.
His nephews and nieces will serve as pall bearers.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Randolph Hospice House P.O. Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204.
