Obituary of Roy Wayne Shultz

Roy Shultz, 76, of the Alarka Community went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, June 13, 2018. A native of Lincolnton and longtime resident of Bryson City, he was the son of the late Lee Shultz and Marie Reep Shultz Byers. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his brother, Steve Shultz; step-son, Tim Houser; step-grandchildren, Christin Phillips, and D.J. McGaha. He was a good businessman and a fine Christian who loved the Lord. He was a beloved dad, step-dad, and granddad. He was a devoted member of the Alarka Church of God for over 15 years. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Hazel Jones Shultz; four children, Scarlet Casey and husband Mark of Lincolnton, Audrey Peticos and husband Shawn of Ellenboro, NC, Randy Houser and wife Tammy of Bryson City, and Beth McGaha of Bryson City; 10 grandchildren, Samantha, Caitlyn, Shawn Michael, Sammy, Travis, David, Dylan, Dylan Richard, Timothy, and Tristan; 9 great grandchildren; four sisters, Edna Spencer, Reba Buff, Rita Rhyne, and Vivian Taylor; two brothers, Dwight Shultz, and Keith Byers. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday at Crisp Funeral Home. Revs. Eugene Moore and Frankie Rogers will officiate with burial in Mason Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM Saturday at the Funeral Home.
