Obituary of Ricky David Shuler

Ricky David Shuler, 63, of Whittier went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 6, 2018. A native of Swain County, he was the son of Grover Shuler of Bryson City and the late Fannie Kirkland Shuler.
He was a devoted husband, father, and Pa to his wife, sons and grandchildren. He was an extremely dedicated and hard worker, a Jack of all Trades.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Stanley, Stephen and James.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife of 44 years, Janet Odiear Shuler; two sons, David Shuler and wife Stephanie of Whittier, and Danny Shuler and wife Janet of Whittier; six grandchildren, Jade, Jordan, Clayton, Colton, Paylen and Raiden; brothers and sisters, Jerry (Judy), Pam, Norma, Judy (Chip), and Lee Ann (Kelly); and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Revs. James "Bo" Brown and Jeff Mathews will officiate with burial at Thomas Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
