Obituary of C. W. Ogle

C.W. (Strawberry) Ogle, 83, of Whittier, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, February 4, 2018 at his residence. A native of Whittier, he was the son of the late Bill Ogle and Essie Raby Ogle Dillard. He was a member of the Oconee Masonic Lodge # 427 in Bryson City where he served as treasurer. He was a member and deacon of Whittier Baptist Church. He was also a US Army Veteran having served in the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Ogle was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Ogle; and his brother, J.T. Ogle.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years. Dot Ogle; one daughter, Cindy Ogle of Whittier; and one grandson, Gabe Keefer of Whittier.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday at Whittier Baptist Church. Revs. Terry Taylor and Larry Nations will officiate. Masonic graveside rites will be conducted by the Oconee Masonic Lodge # 427 at Union Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 2 pm Wednesday at the church.
Pallbearers will be Charles Bailey, Ronnie Sellers, Claude Gibson, Gabe Keefer, Ky Taylor and Carroll Sutton. Honorary pallbearers will be Harry Wood, Jack Bailey, Phillip Ogle and Ryan Bailey.
