Obituary of Vincent Vernon Thomas

Vincent V. Thomas, 83, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, January 2, 2018. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Lamar and Mary Maynor Thomas. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bryson City and a US Air Force Veteran having served during the Korean Conflict.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce Hyde; brothers, George, Andrew, Elbert and Edward Thomas; and his sisters, Lucille Burris, Ollie Williamson and Mary Ellen Sawyer.
Vincent is survived by his wife of 56 years, Peggy C. Thomas; children, Mark Thomas, DeDra Grant, Gary Thomas and Tara Thomas Arch; his beloved grandchildren, Alex Tomberlin, Daniel Tomberlin, Ron Arch and Henry Arch; one sister, Helen Harris; and two brothers, Gordon Thomas and Freddie Thomas.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Rev. Larry Spencer will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 12 – 2 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
