Obituary of Roger Lynn Davis

Almond Dateline: Roger Lynn Davis, passed away in his home on Panther Creek at the age of 69, on March 26th, 2012. He was born in Nashville, TN, and was the son of the late Lawrence and Mary Evelyn Davis. Roger was a fireman for 36 years in three of the busiest Fire Stations in Nashville. When he wasn't at the fire hall, he was on call for his father's Wrecker Service, Davis Wrecker. If this wasn't enough to keep him busy, he had an Air Conditioning Business with customers all over the city. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Roger L. Davis, Jr. (Bubba), and his brother Ronnie Davis. He is survived by one daughter, Connie Davis Manley and husband Steve Betsell of Bryson City, a special friend and companion, Stella Louise James, who unselfishly and lovingly gave 24 hour care to Roger for the last several years of his life, and he loved her dearly. Three grandchildren Lynne Morgan Dyer and husband John of Bryson City, William Lynn Manley of Bryson City, and Cherly Davis of Nashville, TN, five great grandchildren, two brothers Edgar Wayne Davis of Toccoa, GA, and James Franklin Davis of Almond, one sister Carolyn Jane Walker of Almond, and several nieces and nephews. Graveside Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday at Panther Creek Cemetery. Rev. Paul Sale will officiate. Crisp Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
