Obituary of Loyd Baxter Baines

Loyd B. Baines, 81, of the Alarka Community, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, November 27, 2017. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Josh and Callie Cochran Baines. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by four children, Connie Baines Gunter, Floyd Jimmy Baines, Lloyd Kenneth Baines, and Dennis Baxter Baines.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Polly Birchfield Baines; two daughters, Donna Baines Norton of Bryson City, and Debbie Baines Tittle of Dallas, NC; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; special people to Loyd include Benji Gunter, Baxter Baines, Anna Marie Tittle, and Bianca Shook.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Friday at Crisp Funeral Home. Rev. James (Bo) Brown will officiate with burial in Arlington Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Friday at the Funeral Home.
