Obituary of Hazel Louise Della Valle

Hazel Louise Jenkins Della Valle, age 73, went home to be with the Lord on September 21, 2017, a native of Swain County. She was the daughter of the late Fred and Lura Thomasson Jenkins.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Raymond, Douglas, Emmette, and Clayton Jenkins and one sister Ellen Wiggins. She is survived by two sons, Charles Owle and daughter-in-law Misty of Bryson City, NC and Richard Van Hart of Lancaster, PA.; four daughters, Charley Linette Harshman and son-in-law Rick of Denver, CO, Ellen Buchanan and son-in-law Doug of Levittown, PA, Jolie Della Valle and Jesse Dynak of Red Bank, NJ, and Rachael Bartuski of Yardley, PA.; two sisters, Terry Jenkins of Bryson City, NC and Gertude Blake of Levittown PA.
Hazel was blessed with special grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Hazel retired from General Motors and then went onto a second career as a CNA for 15 years. She loved watching football, especially Joe Flaco, animal planet, the horse races, and spending time with her family.
Services will be held 5:00 PM Saturday at Crisp Funeral Home in Bryson City. Rev. Jason Speier will officiate with burial in Jenkins Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 5:00 PM Saturday for visitation at the Funeral Home.
