Robert Howard Gillespie, Jr., 79, of Cherryville, NC went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, August 24, 2017. A resident of Cherryville, he was the son of the late Robert Hall and Belva Gladys Andrews Gillespie.
He is survived by his lifelong companion, Odessa Dills; two daughter, Odessa Gillespie Black and husband Brantley of Cherryville, NC, and Anna Marie Fuller and husband Tommy of Bryson City, NC; one son, Eric Barnes and wife Dana of Dacula, GA,; nine grandchildren, Evan, Michael, Baron and wife Maria, Thomas, Dawson, Codie, Ceara, Shelby, and Lacee; one brother, William Gillespie and wife Kay of Gastonia; and one nephew, Walter Gillespie and wife Jimmie.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday at Crisp Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Sam McMahan will officiate with burial at Euchella Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the VFW post 9281 Bryson City, NC.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday at the Funeral Home.
