Obituary of Alice Faye Cook

Alice Faye Carson Cook, 71, of Bryson City, formerly of Canby, Oregon went home to be with the Lord Thursday, August 24, 2017. A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late Ed and Mildred Wiggins Carson.
She was a member of Midway Baptist Church and a 1964 graduate of Swain County High School. In 1980, Faye and her family were charter members of Clackamas Valley Baptist Church, a Southern Baptist Church in Estacada, Oregon. From 1982 – 2007, she worked with Junior High special needs children with great love; they were all her kids. After she retired, she worked as a florist and was an excellent tour guide for all who could visit. She loved to travel and had visited all 50 states.
Faye is survived by her children, Kim Brewer and Sharon Cook; grandchildren, Courtney and Jordan Brewer who were her pride and joy; sisters, Helen Styles, Sue King (Clifford), Jean Carson, Linda Downs (Rick), Phyllis Collins (Levi); brothers, George Carson and Phil Carson (Sharon); and multiple loving nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm Sunday, August 27, 2017 at Midway Baptist Church. Rev. Mark Sale will officiate.
Interment will be at the Carson Family Cemetery at a later date.
