Obituary of Bud Watkins

Bud Watkins, 70, of Bryson City passed away Monday, July 3, 2017. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Grady and Birdell Johnson Watkins. Bud was a roofer in Swain County for 55 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Bud was preceded in death by his children, Kevin Watkins and Essie Watkins; brother, Raymond Watkins and his sister, Lena Stroupe.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa Watkins; son, Kenny Watkins of Whittier; many brother, sisters, nieces and nephews; and his devoted work crew that worked with him for many years, Randy Woods, Ned Cole and Jonathan Cloer.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Thursday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Holly Springs Cemetery #2.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be his close friends and work crew.
