John Edward Parton, 60, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, June 7, 2017.
He was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Bonnie Parton of Bryson City; his sister, Barbara of Tennessee; and his first wife, Laura Colville.
John is survived by his wife of 10 years, Wanda Blankenship; four sons, Stephen Parton of Bryson City, Richard Parton of Asheville, Matthew Hampton and wife Brittany of Cherokee, Chad Case and wife Alicia of Whittier; two daughters, Kristin Parton of Bryson City and Karen Parton of Charleston, SC; 11 grandchildren, Kendra, Thomas, Thatcher, Holland, Caroline, Lauren, Cash, Dayzee, Daisy, Lilly and Ace; and one sister, Patricia Parton of Bryson City.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm Monday at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 pm Monday at the church.
