Obituary of Margie Jean Millsaps

Margie Jean Collins Millsaps, 70, of the Roundhill Community went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, June 6, 2017. A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late John Marion and Minnie Etta Cochran Collins. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by four sisters, Alva Marie Collins, Grace Millsaps, Louise Collins, Geraldine Hardy; one grandson, David Ledford; and one great grandson, Ridge Cochran.
She attended Galbreath Creek Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Joe Edward Millsaps; two sons, Randy Edward Millsaps and wife Laura of Bryson City, Roger Lee Millsaps of Bryson City; three daughters, Linda Millsaps Barker and husband Dickie of Bryson City, Sheila Kay Owenby and husband Danny of Bryson City, and Sharon Millsaps Hampton and husband Skeeter of Bryson City; grandchildren, Shannon, Krystal, Jessica, Aaron, Ben, Keri, Amber, Dalton, Tyler, Tanner, Cierra, Alan, Colton, Amanda, Blake, Brooke, Johnny, Miranda, Jeremiah, Silas, Chastity and Hunter; great grandchildren, Braxton, Bailey, Brair, Kristen, Mckenzie, Waylon, Joselyn, Oakland, Danner, Alex, Taylor, Max, Dacoda and Chance; and her siblings, Alice, Bud, Clifford, Hazel, Brenda, Judy and Levi.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Revs. Ernie Stiles and Dale Green will officiate with burial in the Laurel Branch Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Friday at the funeral home.
