Obituary of Larry Douglas Woodard

Larry Douglas Woodard, 68, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, May 4th at the home. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Bill and Linda Woodard. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Betty Cochran Woodard, and three children, Vicki Davis, Dewayne "Pedab" Woodard and Chad Woodard. Larry had eight grandchildren and one great grandchild who were all his pride and joy; Jackson Corn, Johnny Woodard, Drew Woodard, Briar Corn, Zackery Woodard, Summer Davis, Hope Woodard, Skye Woodard and Oakland Woodard. Larry is also survived by four brothers, Billy Ray (Gail), Phillip, Gary (Christine) and Lonnie (Mary); and many brother and sisters-in-law. Larry was also a special uncle to many nieces and nephews and a special brother-in-law to all of Betty's brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Mason Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
