Obituary of Aldena "Deanie" Cook

Aldena "Deanie" Cook, 76, of the Kirklands Creek community went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, December 28, 2016. A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late Lawson and Florence Duncan Stevenson. She was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her son, Darryl James and her brothers and sisters, Ralph Stevenson, Ruby Buchanan, Tommy and Donald Stevenson.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, James Cook; her children, Duane Cook, Angie Maennle and husband Frank, Sonya Blankenship and husband Neil; grandchildren, Jessica Cook, Ryan Edwards and husband Andy, Lauren and Matthew Maennle, Darren, Cameron, and Arizona Blankenship; three great grandchildren, Grayson Cook, Jacey Taylor, and Dallas Edwards; and her sisters, Mary Wike, Helen O'diear, Dorothy Chambers and Hazel Cook.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Revs. Tony Lambert and Eddie Stillwell will officiate with burial in the Holly Springs Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
