Cecil "Cleve" Shepherd became our Shining Star in Heaven on December 18, 2016. "Cleve" was born in Swain County NC to William Coleman Shepherd and Ollie Maryjane Bowers Shepherd. He was preceded in death by his mother and father and 10 brothers and sisters.
Cleve is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Lillian Louise Eller Shepherd, four children and their spouses, Johnny and Darlene Shepherd, Tessa and Richard Wright, Kim and Rodney Barnes, Cecil and Donna Shepherd; 10 grandchildren, Chrissy (Adam), Trip (Ashely), Amber (W.T.), Bree (Trever), Joshua (Brittney), C.J., Nickolas, Landon, Conner and Ceanna; five great grandchildren, Kenze, Aiden, Hayden, Preston and Emery and was eagerly awaiting a great granddaughter, Cambri; one sister, Ruby James of Easley, SC; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and "adopted" children.
He worked in a Hoisery Mill and in construction. He loved his wife, family and friends dearly and his loved his fishing, hunting, rock hunting, his birds, and star gazing.
He was sos kind, compassionate, giving, loving and the most unselfish man who had a huge heart and gave so generously of himself and was loved by many. He also loved snow so we will miss his snow bush predictions this winter and years to come. Heaven gained an amazing Angel who will live in our hearts forever.
