Obituary of Jerry Lee Kirkland

Jerry Lee Kirkland, 57, of the Shepherds Creek Community went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, December 13, 2016. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late John Paul and Clara Mae Simonds Kirkland. He worked for 41 years as a logger and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church on Coopers Creek.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Roy Vincent Kirkland and his sister, Jessie Mae Walker.
He is survived by two daughters, Jessica Marie McCall and Misty Lee Kirkland; six grandchildren; three sisters, Dorothy Ann Price, Donna Marie Roland, and Rachel Kirkland Roland; four brothers, Richard Lyle Kirkland, Leonard Ray Kirkland, Michael Dent Kirkland and Dewayne Earl Kirkland; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Rev. Dewayne Kirkland will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 pm Friday at the funeral home.
