Obituary of Stephanie Davis

Stephanie Wike Davis, 49, of Canton, went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by family and friends at the Homestead in Clyde, NC on Monday, November 28, 2016 after a long fight with ALS. A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of Hoover Wayne Wike of Whittier, NC and Mary Stephenson Wike of Bryson City and her special mother-in-law Wanda Davis. She was the granddaughter of the late Sam and Marie Wike. She was a member of Rowland's Creek Baptist Church of Topton, NC. Stephanie touched many people with love. She loved life, and was always thinking of other people. She had a special love for her Church family. Stephanie is survived by her husband Darrin E. Davis of Canton, NC; one brother Wayne Wike Jr. and wife Nancy of Hubert, NC; one sister Janell Furtak and husband Jim of Milford, MI; nephew Josh Wike and Kelsy Keeton; niece Annette Lowery and husband Kevin; niece Jennifer Carlson and husband Zack; nephew Daniel Prater and wife Jennifer, and several great nieces and great nephews. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Crisp Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Dana Dockery will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Saturday, December 17, 2016 at the Funeral Home. Keeping in Stephanie's wish for a cure she donated her body to science to the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, TN. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the ALS Association the North Carolina Chapter; The Duke ALS Clinic; Any No Kill Animal shelter; or any Veterans Associations or groups.
