Obituary of Charles Grayson Conley II

Charles (Charlie) Grayson Conley II, 54, of Sylva, NC, passed away suddenly on Friday, September 2, 2016, of natural causes. Born September 5, 1961 in Ashland, KY, Charlie was the son of Mrs. Ethel Faulkner Conley of Whittier, NC and the late Charles Grayson Conley. Charlie was a natural care-giver with a huge and tender heart who loved his family, friends and all kinds of animals and critters. He also enjoyed telling stories (a trait he undoubtedly inherited from his father) and frequent telephone calls with family members scattered around the country. He loved to talk about the things of God and attended Sequoyah Sovereign Grace Baptist Church in Cherokee, NC. He worked in the construction and home improvement business for many years. In addition to his mother, Charlie is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Tara Davis, of whom he was so proud, and her husband, Grady, of Whittier, NC. He also leaves behind four sisters, Mrs. Joy Balmer (John) of Belmont, NC; Mrs. Janet Tate (Frank) of Russell, KY, Mrs. Melissa Greene (Robert) of Whittier, NC, and Mrs. Angie Paterson (John) of Florida. He was also loved and will be missed by five nieces, three nephews, three great nieces, and a great nephew, his aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Crisp Funeral Home at 669 Highway 19 South in Bryson City, NC. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 6 -8 p.m. Sunday, September 4. Funeral services will be officiated by pastors Tim James and Frank Tate at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home followed by internment at the Laurel Branch Cemetery in Bryson City, NC.
