Ruth Jane Greene Burnette, 93, of the Alarka Community went home to be with the Lord, Friday, August 12, 2016, at her residence. A native of Swain County she was the daughter of the late William Ezekiel and Eva Cochran Greene, and wife of the late Rev. Jay Burnette. In addition to her husband and parents she was also preceded in death by one sister, Hazel Brendle.
Ruth is survived by three daughters, Annette Waldroup of the home, Betty Shuler and husband L.D. of Bryson City, and Patsy Bowers of Croswell, MI; one son, William Kenneth Burnette and wife Patricia of Hamlet, NC; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Monday at Crisp Funeral Home Chapel. Dean Roach will officiate with burial in the Brendle Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM Sunday at the Funeral Home.
