Catherine Elizabeth Ann Gillette, 96, of the Deep Gap Community went home to be with the Lord Thursday February 22, 2024. A longtime resident of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Althizer and Steele Gray Althizer. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Clayton “Jerry” Gillette, one son, Dwight Sisson, grandson, James Hooker, and one sister, Barbara Hover, and many beloved pets.
She is survived by her daughters, Catherine Elizabeth Ann Hooker and husband James, and Barbie Barker and husband Darren, Grandchildren, Allen, Jason, James, Joshua, Julia, Karl, Erik, Melissa and her husband Garrett, Brandon; great grandchildren, Lexus, Kaleb, Maia, Maylee, Catie Beth; special nieces, Debby, Diane, Jan, and special nephew, Jay.
Family will have a private service at a later date.
