Juanita Shook Lester (Nanny), 92, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, February 7, 2024. A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late Frank Shook and Marie Anthony Shook. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Ray Lester, and one sister, Winona Winchester Stanley.
She is survived by her children, Yvonne Lester Price and husband Robert of Sylva, Robbin Monteith and husband Paul of Bryson City, Kenneth Lester of Bryson City; Grandchildren, Brant T. Price and wife Lynn, Scot C. Price and wife Amanda Snow, Carly Michael and husband Phillip Brooks Michael; Niece Sherry Smith and husband Rollon, Nephew Shawn Winchester and wife Debbie.
Due to family illness the family will have a private Funeral Service at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Together We Raise of Swain County, PO Box 610 Bryson City, NC 28713 Care of Swain County DSS.
