Obituary of Carmela Stephanie Sutton

Carmela Stephanie Sutton, 50, of Swain County, passed away at her home January 22, 2024. She was born December 1, 1973, in Cocke County, TN, to the late Jerry Sutton and Mary Fleming. She was a self-made woman who opened and operated her own jewelry and handmade craft store for the last decade. In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by a brother Jared Sutton. She is survived by her daughter Rachel Valentine (Cody) of Cosby Tennessee, her companion of 20 years Royce Lee Byrd, and her 2 half siblings. She is also survived by a host of extended family including four uncles, and her Grandfather Leon Stinnett. She also leaves behind 3 grandsons who were the light of her life, Caden, Carter, and Connor Valentine. A Celebration of life is planned for Friday January 26,2024, at Hilltop Baptist Church, in Newport Tennessee, at 6:00pm. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. The family requests that any florals be house plants not cemetery pieces.
