Mark Steven Day, 62, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord Friday, December 8, 2023. A longtime resident of Swain County, he was the son of the late Virgil and Jean Draper Day. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Hervie Day, and Daniel Day, and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Day.
Mark had a love for God, Family and Community. Anybody who truly needed help he was always glad to help.
Mark is survived by his wife of 24 years, Dorothy Day; children, April Barneycastle (Joseph), Jennifer Webb, and Charles Cucumber; 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren, and 3 brothers, Mike Day of Arizona, and Phillip and Robert Day both of Morehead City.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Crisp Funeral Home Chapel. Brother Sam McMahan will officiate with burial at Grave Gap Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Saturday, December 16, 2023 at the Funeral Home.
Mark will be escorted to Grave Gap Cemetery by the local Armed Patriot’s Chapter.
