Sue Jacobs Sofield, 85, of Bryson City NC, passed away peacefully October 18, 2023. A native of Swain County she was born September 27, 1938, to the late Byrd Porter Jacobs and Dora Stanberry Jacobs. She was married to her late husband Larry Sofield for over 30 years.
In addition to her parents and late husband she is preceded in death by her son James Wood and the majority of her siblings.
She is survived by her children: Monty Wood, Pamela Ashe (Larry), Gary Wood, and Chris Wood all of Buncombe County; Freddie Sofield (Kathy), Larry Sofield Jr. (Kathy), both of Florida. A brother JB Jacobs of Bryson City, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A Celebration of life will be held Monday October 30, 2023, at 11:00 am at the Chapel of Crisp Funeral Home.
