Obituary of Jessie Burns Dyer

Jessie Burns Dyer, 79, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord on October 13, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Lewis Dyer. She was the daughter of Jim and Laura Bumgarner Burns. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Jim Burns and Charles Burns; sisters, Pete Burns, Glenna Waldroup, Betty Ward, and Flonnie Collins. She is survived by her daughters, Lillis Posey (Nathan), Connie Crisp (Lewis); three grandchildren, Joshua Crisp (Meredith), Isaac Crisp (Brittany), and Jessica Posey; eight great grandchildren, Olivia Nations, Harley Posey, Taylor Posey, Jaden Fulford, Jude Crisp, Elias Crisp, Asa Crisp, and Liam Crisp. Jessie was known for her beauty, smile, and her kind heart. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and a friend to all. She had a humble heart. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, October 18, 2023 in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Lewis Crisp, Shane Roughton, and David Postell will officiate with burial in Swain Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11am to 1 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Joshua Crisp, Isaac Crisp, Kenny Dyer, Ted Dyer, Jody Waldroup, and KJ Dyer.
