Obituary of Karen Annette Baker

Karen “Annette Cloer” Baker, 66, of Bryson City was called home Sunday, August 13th, 2023 after a brief illness. Annette was the daughter of the late Carroll and Geraldine Dehart Cloer. Annette was a familiar face in the community from her many years of work in the local tourist industry. She is preceded in death by her brother Steve Cloer. She is survived by her daughters, Jessica Baker of Bryson City and Emily Moon of Jacksonville, FL. One sister, Sandy Cloer. Her sister in-law Vivian Cloer of Hayesville. Nieces, Amanda Childs and husband Danny, Michelle Stiles and husband Robert and nephew, James Maness; and a large extended family. Annette is remembered fondly by those who knew her best as a “firecracker” of a personality and a soul who truly marched to the beat of her own drum. Her unique and colorful radiance will be sorely missed. The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm on Thursday, August 17th at Bryson City United Methodist Church, followed by a brief memorial service. Wayne Dickert presiding.
