Ruth Melinda Cunningham, 95, of Bryson City NC, passed away peacefully August 13, 2023. A native of Swain County she was born July 14, 1928. Ruth was the daughter of the late Harley and Nina Tallent Cunningham. She worked at Belk’s in Bryson City from her Senior Year in High School until they closed after 40 years of service. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing and being a homemaker. She loved cooking and being surrounded by her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Thomas C. Cunningham, Claude Cunningham, Warren Cunningham, and Dennis Cunningham.
She is survived by her sister Velda Cline, and a host of nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday August 16, 2023, at Crisp Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Cold Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
