Obituary of Francis Jane Curtice

Francis Curtice, 90, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, August 2, 2023. A longtime resident of Bryson City, she was the daughter of the late Warden and Blanche Walters, and wife of the late Amos Curtice. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by sons, John, Mark, and Tom Curtice; daughters-in-law, Tracy Curtice, and Janet Curtice; one grandchild, Jason Curtice; one great grandchild, Kendra Curtice, and many brothers and sisters. Francis was a Special Education Teacher at Almond School. She was also a foster parent from 1976 until 2000. She is survived by her children, Paul Curtice and wife Susie, Jeff Curtice, Sam Curtice and wife Tina, Joe Curtice and wife Della, Jim Curtice, and Angie Spates and husband Ron; one daughter-in-law, Karla Curtice; 25 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren, and 11 great great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday at Crisp Funeral Home Chapel. Brother Mike Cogdill will officiate with burial at Holly Springs Cemetery #2. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Sunday at the Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Drew, Trey, Mikey, Nathan, Jeremy, Mark, and Austin. Honorary Pallbearers will be Travis and Lil Paul.
