Obituary of Lois Kirkland

Bryson City Dateline: Lois Coleman Kirkland, 82, of the Kirklands Creek Community, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, September 23rd, 2013 in a Swain County Hospital. A resident of Swain County for 19 years, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Merle Crane Coleman and wife of the late Max Kirkland. She also was preceded in death by four brothers, Wayne, Hubert, Kenneth, and Jesse. She is survived by five children; Michael Kirkland and wife Linda of Weaverville, NC, Roger Kirkland and wife Gina of Charlotte, Phyllis Raposa and husband Jerry of Concord, NC, Lynda Kirkland of Bryson City, and Max Kirkland and wife Rita of Bryson City, four grandchildren; Christina, Samantha, Brandi, and James, 8 great grandchildren, and one sister, Alice Edwards of Shelby, NC. Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday in the Chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Rev. Benji Collins will officiate with burial in Holly Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3:00 PM Wednesday at the Funeral Home.
